The occurrence of particular forms of adverse pharmacological events is more prevalent for specific pharmaceutical classes, such as low blood sugar (hypoglycemia) associated with insulin administration. Antibiotics are one of the most commonly prescribed medications that result in visits to the emergency room due to adverse drug reactions (ADEs).
According to the findings of this scoping assessment, the most common causes of ADRs were drug-related and owing to allergies. Contrary to popular belief, idiosyncratic adverse responses were not frequently described in the literature. This is mostly due to the fact that these responses are difficult to predict and are not connected with specific medication dosages or delivery methods.
Medicine-related adverse events, often known as adverse drug reactions (ADRs), are unfavorable occurrences that occur as a result of taking medicine. ADRs have the potential to have a significant impact on the quality of life of patients while also placing an additional strain on the healthcare system.
